This groups has an interest in precision polymerization. In particular, the synthesis of various stimuli-responsive (block) polymers and their applications are studied.The group has used a wide range of polymer synthesis techniques, including living cationic polymerization, metal-free living cationic vinyl and ring-opening polymerization, RAFT polymerization, and transformation of cationic to radical polymerization. Recetly, we have reported RAFT homopolymerization of vinyl ether and the polymerization-induced self-assembly. The novel polymerization system enables to produce various functional materials!
